Coeurs

A French Short Cuts, which I loved, but this was not as successful. A bit too contrived. Comment dire 'contrived' in French?

I booked tickets for this on the sole mention of Alain Resnais, and then for Andre Dussollier, who makes me laugh.

You know when people say, especially older movie stars, that as children they'd forget their poor miserable childhoods by going to the movies and escaping for a few hours? The movies so far might not have been too impressive, but I get a real taste of that feeling everytime the lights dim (and the brilliant Peugeot ads come on). It's joy escaping into the darkness, and it feels like a real escape hearing the different languages. I think I need to allocate more time for the movies.
